These are questions and answers that have come up in Discord so far. Feel free to ask more questions there, or in comments.
I know my work needs to fulfill a request, but what exactly does that mean?
The content of your work needs to contain a requested ship or character and at least one of the freeform tags that was requested for that ship or character (in either the Additional Tags field or the Optional Tags field), while avoiding the DNWs in that request.
Do the tags I claim in my author's note need to match the requested tags?
They do not. The tags you claim for gameplay purposes do need to be relevant to the work; for example, you can't claim Kissing if your work has no kissing in it. But if your work does depict kissing, you can claim the Kissing tag in order to help meet the goal for that square, regardless of whether the request you're fulfilling has Kissing anywhere in the requested tags.
Does the goal number apply to each tag or to both tags?
The goal number applies to both tags. For example, in order to clear the square with the goal "8, Romantic Weekend Getaway + Daemons," there need to be 8 total claims for those tags. That could be 8 romantic weekend getaways, or 5 romantic weekend getaways and 3 daemons, or 4 stories in which people with daemons go on romantic weekend getaways.
So my work doesn't have to claim both tags at once?
No. You can put both concepts in your work if you want to, but you don't have to.
I know I can only claim a maximum of 1 tag per 100 words. Do the work labels like "Rated E" or "F/F works" count toward that limit?
Ratings, categories, and archive warnings are counted automatically by the mods, so you don't need to include them in your author's note and they don't count toward your tag maximum.
Can I claim tags that aren't on the current board?
No, you can only claim tags that are on the current board.
How do I use the team spreadsheet?
Get your team role in Discord and discuss that with your team. Each spreadsheet is developed differently by the team and the Spreadsheet Fairy, and each team has its own strategy.
Do I need to claim prompts in order to fill them? How do I fill anonymous prompts?
You don't need to claim prompts, and you can fill prompts other people have claimed or filled. If you're filling an anonymous prompt, just note that in your author's note and leave the recipient field blank.
What are the limits on trap placement and arrangement?
Traps will not overlap or go over the edge of the grid. Otherwise, there are no limits. Traps may be rotated 90, 180, or 270 degrees from their position on the sample grid image. (In other words, the three diagonal squares of the darts will remain diagonal, but they may slant either way. All other traps will have squares connecting horizontally and/or vertically.) They may touch each other. They may touch the sides of the grid.
The traps are arranged one way on the Team Tower board and a different way on the Team Dungeon board.
Will the mods announce when a trap has been completely uncovered?
Yes, it will be announced in Discord, and "hidden" on the grid key will change to "found" for that trap.
Can I post my work on a sock? Can I make it anonymous?
If you're on a team, please post your work to your team collection from the account you used to sign up (the one listed on the team assignment list). Once the work has been accepted into the collection, you can move it to a sock.
If you're not on a team, you can post to the main collection from any account you like.
Putting your work in the anonymous collection doesn't affect how the works are logged. The mods will still be able to see your AO3 account listed as the creator.
