Tagset anarchy does have some limits, just to make sure the tagset is usable. We only have two queries:

1) Ekka Asmat is nominated in Warhammer 40.000 in the ship Ekka Asmat/Mortarion. Ekka Asmat is not a canon character, so please let us know how to describe the fanwork in which this character originates, and then we'll move it to Crossover Fandom as Ekka Asmat ([name of fanwork])/Mortarion (WH40k). If we don't hear back from you by the time nominations close, we'll delete this nomination.

2) Many pending nominations appear to be for the Star Trek tie-in novel A Stitch in Time. The version of the novel title you used has been synned to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on AO3, so your nominations will show up under DS9. If you don't want this, please renominate with "A Stitch in Time - Andrew Robinson (Novel)" as the fandom; that version is still un-synned and will show up on its own under Uncategorized Fandoms. If we don't hear back from you by the time nominations close, we'll approve these under DS9.

Since there are no assignments for Battleship, there's no need to inform us about tags that have "wandered" to the wrong fandom, as long as those tags also show up under the right fandom. It's also fine if there are duplicate nominations. However, if you spot a problem in the tagset that will prevent you from making the requests you want to make, please let us know and we'll fix it.

Could you please let me know how to renominate A Stitch in Time - Andrew J. Robinson with A Stitch in Time - Andrew Robinson (Novel)? I've tried going to 'my nominations', but it's not letting me select the fandom to change it or delete it and try again.

Since Deep Space Nine is already in the tagset, it's been automatically accepted and can't be changed on your side. If you have a free nomination slot, move your ASIT nominations there. If not, send us the direct link to your nominations page and we can try to change it for you.

I don't have a free nomination slot (and Tolan Garak is an original character in ASIT, so he wouldn't be in the Deep Space Nine tag (unless it were a crossover between ASIT and ST: DS9).

Ekka Asmat: this is complicated, because she's not exactly from a single fanwork—she was invented over a long, long set of Warhammer threads (brainstorming and impromptu RP) on fail_fandomanon. Her origin was in subthreads titled "Warhammer - Forced Marriage".

The first one is untitled, so cannot be used to disambiguate her.

The second one has a title and is on AO3, so it could technically be used, but it's not her origin. And, um, as the author of that story I'd feel uncomfortable with any tag credited me as the sole creator, because she was a joint creation.

I think "Ekka Asmat (FFA)" or "Ekka Asmat (FFA Warhammer AUs) would work? I'd prefer that to using my fic as her "canon".

(Crossovers seems like an unintuitive place to put the ship, but I'd be happy to have it in the tagset at all, myself.)

Feel free to nominate in any of those categories and/or make up a new variation if you like, depending on how you'd like to use your request slots when you sign up. All Original Works "fandoms" in the tagset collectively count as one fandom when it comes to the question of whether you've requested three unique fandoms; however, if you request Original Work, you're highly unlikely to go giftless.
