The Battleship 2024 adventure begins!

You've spent a year recovering from being imprisoned in the castle of Tarina the Fairy. You've also made a great many new friends at the Shoulder Dragon Cafe, which is doing a booming business. Now restless and eager for a new adventure, you've agreed to help some cave trolls and spark-sprites recover their lost belongings. Surely this will be fun and easy, and nothing unexpected or difficult will happen at all!

A couple of people step forward to lead the adventuring parties. Everyone gathers on the meadow in front of the cafe, and the team captains divide the volunteers into groups. There are so many people that it's almost overwhelming! Surely you'll be able to get things sorted for the cave trolls and the spark-sprites in no time at all.

But as the groups tie their boots, heft their packs, straddle their broomsticks, and otherwise prepare to depart, a thick fog swirls down from the mountains. It confuses you so you don't know which way to turn; you can hear other people but not see them. You call out for your team captain, but all you hear is the mocking laugh of Tarina the Fairy. It swirls around you on a chilly breeze, and then you're alone in the fog.

Perhaps half of you can resist Tarina's magic. You find your team captains and your comrades, shaken but unharmed, and make your way out of the fog. Everyone else seems to have vanished. In diminished groups, your teams resume your journeys toward the cave trolls' volcano and the spark-sprites' crystal caverns... but you go slowly and sadly, wondering what's become of your lost companions.

Some of you stumble through the fog and tumble into a sinkhole. You splash down into icy water that washes away the confusion and clears your minds. When something bumps into you under the water, you yelp, worried (or excited) about tentacled monsters, but instead you feel helpful hands guiding you to the shore.

Some of you walk through the fog, and walk, and walk. The air gets cool around you, then cold. At last you walk out of the fog and... still can't see anything. But the confusion has left you, and you finally realize you could light a torch. You seem to be in a tunnel of some kind, and many of your companions are there with you, still shaking off the daze. Rock walls surround you, and an earth mage says you're deep underground.

Surprise! There are FOUR teams: Team Crystal (led by Leaf/Tavina), Team Mermaid (led by Eirvyan), Team Tunnel (led by gaialux), and Team Volcano (led by Soulstoned). Each team will have its own boards to clear and bosses to beat, and its own chance to win Battleship 2024!
